Summer Dog Safety Tips

Signs of Heat Stroke

Panting, Drooling, Rapid Pulse, Fever

Immediately immerse the dog in cool water & contact a vet.

Can Your Dog Swim?

Never throw a dog in the water. Always make new experiences fun and happy!

Begin in very shallow water and try to lure the dog with treats or a toy.

Another friendly dog that likes the water may be used to help your dog make a positive association with the beach or pool.

Swimming is a great form of exercise but be careful that your dog does not become too tired. He will be using different muscles so he must always be supervised. Be able to reach your dog quickly.

Watch closely for strong tides and other hazards.
